Whether your attire is tailor-made or a creatively adorned cardboard box, you’ll receive a hearty greeting and enthusiastic support from our dedicated cosplay duo.
Leia, a distinguished cosplay artist and designer, champions body positivity, using cosplay to boost confidence. For the last couple of years, she considered ‘retiring’ to focus on commission work. Yet, the allure of WynterCon was too strong. We’re delighted to welcome her back for the fourth year as our Cosplay Ambassador and competition judge at WynterCon XI.
Our special guest cosplayer, an official WynterCon Cosplay Competition Judge, and an Ambassador for the Creative Geek Community, TJC, boasts an impressive collection of over 100 costumes on standby. TJC has been a vibrant presence at previous WynterCon events, captivating attendees with his portrayals. We’re all eagerly anticipating which characters he will unveil at this year’s WynterCon XI!
Lunarstar Cosplay, also known as Gemma, is a talented cosplay artist with a knack for gaming costumes, especially when it comes to crafting armour and large weapons using various techniques. Gemma is delighted to return to Wyntercon XI as a Cosplay Guest, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share her latest creations with fellow enthusiasts.
Star Crossed Fairies came into being in 2015, sparked by a captivating sketch of a steampunk-inspired girl adorned with Monarch wings, crafted by the founder, James. His sister, instantly enamoured with the drawing, inspired James to bring the concept to life, marking her transformation as the inaugural Star Crossed Fairy. As more fairies took flight, an enchanting assortment of mystical beings soon followed suit. Visitors are invited to explore our enchanted fairy cave, meet the fairies and their pet Wyvern, and capture magical moments in photographs to cherish forever.
Meet the trio of enigmatic witches, masters of the culinary dark arts, who have set up their eerie kitchen table laden with a collection of gruesome ingredients, inviting the daring to taste if they possess the courage. Known as the Crones of old, they beckon you to step forward with boldness, to challenge your senses and bravery. With an air of ancient mystery, they offer an experience not for the faint-hearted. Dare to sample their peculiar concoctions, each a testament to their bewitching culinary skills. Will you heed the call of the Crones, embrace the adventure, and taste what lies beyond the ordinary? Embark on this daring culinary journey, if you dare, and discover flavours untold and tales as old as time itself.
True to their name, this cosplayer hails from the south coast and channels their love for cosplay—especially embodying Chewbacca—towards fundraising for charitable causes. Throughout the weekend, you’ll find the towering Chewie wandering the show floor and Cosplay Hall, offering hugs and posing for photos with attendees. At heart, they’re just a gentle giant.
As suggested by their name, this Norwich-based group excels in creating precise replicas of droids and robot props from well-known movies and sci-fi series. Their impressive lineup features the likes of R2-D2 and R5-D4 from Star Wars, alongside a remarkable Probe Droid. They’ve also brought Chopper to life from the Star Wars Rebels animated series, as well as Pit Droids seen in Star Wars Episode I and more recently in The Mandalorian. Their collection even extends to Daleks from Doctor Who and meticulously crafted props such as Ghostbuster Proton Packs. Their craftsmanship is nothing short of astounding, and we eagerly anticipate the wonders they’ll unveil at WynterCon XI.
After seven years of cosplaying in more traditional, easily wearable costumes like Captain America and Stormtroopers, Gary Stone set his sights on a more challenging project that demanded a performance element. The Spirit Walker, an original concept designed and constructed by Gary over approximately a month, draws inspiration from quad-stilt creatures seen in various films. Witnessing this cosplay come to life is both unnervingly eerie and utterly captivating.
The Sussex Ghostbusters, recognised by Ghost Corps as an official Ghostbusters franchise, constitute a costumed charity fundraising team actively involved with Sussex-based charities. They participate in a range of events, from village fetes to comic-cons, to promote charitable endeavors and raise funds. Embracing any worthwhile cause, they offer support by tackling paranormal threats and providing entertainment. If peculiar occurrences trouble you in Sussex or if you’ve encountered eerie phenomena in Horsham, Hove, or Hastings, delay no longer. After many years being a “brother in red” around Christmas time both in the US and the UK, Ian Flowers once returning to the UK decided it was time to branch out into the cosplay world, being 7ft tall there weren’t many options, with the aid of his friends the Rubeus Hagrid costume was born, now as a memory to the late Robby Coltrane, Ian and his master of needles Claire Finnamore continue to make different variants of the costume to the pleasure of harry potter fans everywhere from cons to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter tour in London.
Iconic Legion is a charity-driven costuming group that was established in October 2011, united by the aim of leveraging cosplay and fundraising appearances to support various charities throughout the UK. Composed of volunteers who share a passion for costuming and making a positive impact, the group thrives on fun and philanthropy. Their repertoire includes a wide range of iconic characters from Star Wars, comic books, movies, sci-fi, and beyond, all cleared for use by the group in their charitable endeavours.
A lifelong Ghostbusters fanatic, Adam’s cosplay journey began in 2015 when he began building a movie-accurate proton pack. He soon constructed and modified other Ghostbusters props, accessories and uniforms and has spent much of the last 8+ years using this equipment to help raise money for good causes. More recently, partly as motivation to improve his fitness, he began cosplaying as Captain America, building a full metal shield in the process complete with a system to magnetically attach it to the back of the costume. He is currently working on building an accurate replica of the Slime Blower from Ghostbusters 2!
With a focus on accuracy, functionality, creativity and fun, Adam’s props and costumes turn heads and put smiles on the faces of the public, whatever their age!
Ross has been a devoted follower of the Indiana Jones franchise throughout his life and is widely recognised on the cosplay circuit as either Indiana Jones or a member of the Ghostbusters. He started cosplaying over two decades ago, initially dressing up for Halloween or “Fancy Dress” parties. His genuine journey into cosplay began with the inaugural WynterCon, an event he has since fully embraced. He’s not only a regular at WynterCon but has also twice claimed the title of Cosplay Grand Champion.
In 2017, Ross constructed his own proton pack and joined the Sussex Ghostbusters, helping to raise thousands for charity over the past seven years. His passion for Indiana Jones inspired him to learn and eventually craft Bullwhips. During the COVID pandemic, he launched a business selling his Bullwhips and other paracord products, shipping as far as Australia and the USA. This year, Ross is thrilled to be invited to WynterCon as a cosplay guest and is eager to see the cosplay creations of others.
A creator of bespoke movie and game props is set to enhance the event with an array of captivating set pieces for display and photo opportunities. Expect to see immersive backdrops of Monsters Inc., along with their cosplay troupe out in full array. Their contributions are poised to bring an extra layer of excitement to the Cosplay Zone this year, and the anticipation is high!
For a few years now, Ashley has been a familiar presence at WynterCon, embodying the enduring spirit of cosplay. At 65, he proves age is no barrier to creativity, with 15 years in the scene. Beginning with a faithful 1980’s Earthshock Cyberman recreation, he sparked a lasting passion. His diverse character repertoire includes Pennywise, but it’s his globally sourced Night King ensemble from Game of Thrones that truly shines. Each detail reflects Ashley’s unwavering commitment to cosplay excellence, making it a profound journey of creativity and self-expression.
WitchcraftyCosplay has been deeply involved in the world of cosplay and costume-making for more than a decade. With a penchant for charity events, she also frequents conventions on her own accord. Her costume collection spans various genres, showcasing an equal affinity for heroes and villains alike. Crafting each costume from scratch is her forte, as she continuously seeks to expand her repertoire of techniques and skills. Ultimately, WitchcraftyCosplay views cosplay as a means of spreading joy and embracing the spirit of fun.
Brittany, a dedicated cosplayer and ardent geek, adores bringing characters to life through intricate costumes. Her cosplay choices are driven by personal affection for the characters or their attire, often leading her to portray lesser-known figures. Crafting her own costumes is a source of immense joy, as she constantly explores new techniques and methods. Witnessing her creations come to life and eliciting positive reactions from others fuels her passion. Brittany actively participates in conventions nationwide, both independently and with the Essexcosplayers group, contributing to charity events along the way.

WynterCon operates a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, bullying or other inappropriate behaviour towards staff, volunteers, exhibitors, guests and attendees.

The organisers’ decision is final and the offending party may be removed from the venue by event security and will not be allowed back into the event. There is no refund of tickets or appeal in such circumstances.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission at any point.
No, you do not have to pre-book autographs. It is simply a case of coming along to WynterCon on the day, finding the guests you would like to meet and joining the queue to see them.
